In addition to an elegant dinner with select wines served with each course, there will be a silent auction with items all about Chattanooga and PBS opportunities and experiences. The evening’s proceeds will support WTCI’s programming and outreach throughout the Tennessee Valley.
Located among the greenery of Kensington Gardens in London’s Hyde Park, the Serpentine Gallery and its nearby Sackler Gallery—with an extension by Zaha Hadid—have held some of the most exciting exhibitions in the city in recent years. There is also the much-anticipated annual Serpentine Gallery pavilion commission, which since its inception in 2000 has showcased the work of architects like Zaha Hadid, Frank Gehry, Bjarke Ingels, and Francis Kéré. Last year, a black pavilion by Mexican architect Frida Escobedo was on view from June to October.
When I started on this project, I didn’t know what kind of game I wanted to make, and I had no experience with electrical engineering and the like. So, I decided to begin by brainstorming creative ways to implement pre-existing tech that I already knew how to use. At some point, I remembered Steam could be used to re-map the inputs on the DualShock 4, including the gyroscope, and since the games I like to develop and play most are usually first-person, it seemed like a natural fit to connect the mouselook to the tilt controls.
The Ninja Smart Screen Blender proved to be a very strong performer. It scored close to full marks for its blending abilities. It chopped and crushed quickly and effectively. It faced the tougher of ingredients with ease, only losing marks for splashback when making mayonnaise. On top of this, its design and ease of use scored top marks. It features eight speeds of power, remains stable in use and offers dishwasher safe attachments, so it’s quick to clean up after! While the build is a little bulky, it’ll certainly deliver when it comes to your blending needs.
Remove the lid and let the remaining liquid evaporate or burn off over the course of 3 to 4 minutes. Stir in the vinegar and let that mesh with the greens for 1 minute. Turn the heat off and stir in the basil and salt. Serve immediately.
Seconded! Brandt and I are both obsessed with these muffin pans. I threw out my metal one immediately after trying this for the first time. We tested out the Silpat muffin pans together a little while back in case you want a more in-depth review. — Sally Kaplan, Insider Picks Editor
When Year & Day founder Kathryn Duryea moved to San Francisco, she was ready to stock her new apartment with plates and flatware, but often found the options lacking — boring, expensive, and of poor quality. Long interested in the rituals of the table and entertaining, she began taking glaze-making classes, researching the industries of ceramics, flatware, and glass, and meeting with vendors who shared her vision of high-quality, beautiful, and durable dinnerware.

Place the steak in a bowl and add the rest of the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for 1 – 2 hours, turning the steak a couple of times. (Don’t marinate longer than 2 hours or the texture will begin to get mushy.)
It may seem impossible to consume that many vegetables and fruit every day, so taking a good multivitamin makes for a good backup plan. Townsend takes one every day and stresses the importance of checking the ingredient list on your jar of vitamins to make sure it’s not loaded with fillers, such as artificial dyes, hydrogenated oil and talc.
In cocktail shaker, combine tequila, Citrónge, lime juice, and agave nectar. Rim margarita glass with salt and fill with ice. Pour mixture over ice with strainer. Garnish with lime wedge and jalapeño.
If you have the space, you might want to consider having two sets of flatware, one for every day (definitely go with a dishwasher-safe version here) and one for dinner parties and special occasions. It’s also totally ok to just have one favorite pattern for everything! In general, entertaining is a much more casual affair than it used to be. While you still might want to invest in an old-school classic like sterling silver (or maybe you have a collection that’s passed down from your mom or grandmother), these days it’s really all about modern pieces that won’t break the bank. And if you want it, you can still get that old-world vibe with styles that are infinitely easier to care for (no hand washing and polishing!).
